IM.POSSIBLE: BUILDING RESILIENT STUDENTS WHO CHASE THEIR DREAMS
BY EDDIE CORTES
Are you ready to help your students achieve the impossible? In his book, “Im.possible”, a kids book about resilience, Eddie Cortes provides a roadmap for helping students become resilient problem-solvers and dream-chasers.
“One of my teachers said that IM.POSSIBLE with motivational youth speaker Eddie Cortes was the best student assembly she had ever been to.”
Rafael’s Triumph: Conquering Soccer Doubts at Natomas Park Elementary with Motivational Youth Speaker Eddie Cortes
Let’s dive into a heartwarming moment that set the tone for an incredible day at Natomas Park Elementary in California. Meet Rafael, a fifth-grader navigating the doubts that often cloud our dreams, especially in something as passionate as soccer.
In the aftermath of the IM.POSSIBLE assembly, Rafael’s story stood out as a shining beacon of resilience and self-discovery. He was on the verge of letting go of his soccer dreams, feeling like he wasn’t good enough. But something clicked during the school assembly, and suddenly, he realized the strength within him. The realization that he can tackle challenges, that his potential knows no bounds, and above all, he’s truly worthy of chasing his dreams. Cue the cheers and applause!
Superpower Day: Unleashing Bravery, Strength, and Smarts
Our day at Natomas Park Elementary was all about tapping into the superpowers within each student—resilience being the ultimate force! I wove lessons into the fabric of humor, relatable stories, and captivating tricks, emphasizing that these incredible kids are “braver than they believe, stronger than they seem, and smarter than they think.” And just like that, we set the stage for a day of self-discovery.
Dreams Unveiled: Lawyers, Engineers, and Soccer Stars in the Making
As the assembly wrapped up, the energy in the room was electric. Students were animatedly sharing their dreams, from aspiring lawyers in third grade to budding engineers in fourth grade, and fifth graders passionate about making their mark in music and sports.
However, amidst these dreams, it was Rafael’s story that resonated deeply—a poignant reminder that every journey, no matter how challenging, is infused with the potential for triumph.
Cheers to Lyndsay Byrd and Natomas Park Elementary!
None of this magic would have happened without the gracious invitation from Lyndsay Byrd, a true leader who doesn’t just run a school but nurtures a community where every student’s potential is not only recognized but enthusiastically celebrated.
As we navigate through the rest of the year, let’s carry Rafael’s victory as a reminder—resilience paves the way for dreams to flourish, and every child has the potential for greatness. Here’s to more triumphs, more dreams, and believing in the incredible journey of every kid out there!
