Motivational Youth Speaker Eddie Cortés in Mobile, AL
How do you ignite a fire in K-8th grade students, especially when they’re navigating challenges that can dim their light? The problem is real: young people often face moments of doubt, setbacks, or personal struggles that make them question their own power. We need to help them develop an “I can. I will!” mindset to face challenges head-on, turning every obstacle into a stepping stone. This is the critical mission for any high-impact school assembly program.
An “I’m Possible” School Assembly Program
That’s where the I’m Possible Assembly Programs come in! My goal is to deliver an electrifying experience that empowers students to embrace resilience and chase their biggest goals, no matter what life throws at them.
I had the incredible privilege of bringing this message to UMS-Wright Preparatory School in Mobile, Alabama, to over 500 3-8th grade students! The energy was absolutely infectious. Through humor, honesty, and powerful storytelling, I challenged every student in that packed audience to see past their circumstances and recognize the immense potential within themselves. My message was simple but deeply resonant: you are worthy of big epic dreams.
From the first moment to the final applause, the entire room—students and staff alike—laughed, reflected, and left inspired to take action on their goals. I reminded everyone that success isn’t about perfection; it’s about perseverance, and that impossible is just I’M POSSIBLE!
The Power of a Young Heart and a Lasting Impression
The true impact of a motivational youth speaker isn’t just felt in the applause or high-fives; it’s felt in the personal stories that unfold long after the microphones are packed away.
First, a huge shout-out goes to 5th grader Maddux, who helped me share my childhood dream of playing MLB for the New York Yankees. Maddux is a rockstar who has persevered through a lot recently but remains kind, outgoing, and incredibly resilient through it all. Standing on stage with him, seeing his spirit, was a powerful reminder of what an “I can. I will!” mindset truly looks like in action. He embodies it!
But the impact didn’t stop there. Shortly after the event, I received an incredible message from Dr. Dana Stewart that truly touched my heart:
“We loved hearing your message last week… so much that I created a bulletin board that hangs in the hallway outside of my office. Every middle school student’s name is listed because I feel that we are all ‘all stars.’ Just wanted to share that you and your message left a lasting impression on us. Thank you for being you and for sharing your words of encouragement.”
This moment perfectly illustrates the “I’M POSSIBLE” impact:
- Develop an “I can. I will!” mindset to face challenges: Maddux’s example spoke volumes, showing every student that inner strength fuels persistence.
- Overcome Challenges: Students saw firsthand how to develop the inner strength to bounce back from setbacks and view obstacles as opportunities for growth.
- Embrace a Growth Mindset: They cultivated a “I can, I will!” attitude that fosters a love of learning and a desire to continuously improve.
- Boost Confidence: Students gained the belief in themselves to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
- Develop Resilience: They learned to bounce back from setbacks and turn obstacles into opportunities.
We are helping them unlock their potential and inspire dreams that will shape their future, all while celebrating the courage it takes to keep going.
