I’M POSSIBLE: BUILDING RESILIENT STUDENTS WHO CHASE THEIR DREAMS
BY EDDIE CORTES
Are you ready to help your students achieve the impossible? In his book, “I’m Possible”, a kids book about resilience, Eddie Cortes provides a roadmap for helping students become resilient problem-solvers and dream-chasers.
“We thoroughly enjoyed your presentation. Our students and staff are still talking about it! Your message really aligned well with our classroom lessons focused on career development, growth mindset, self-respect, and character building! Thanks for being an inspiration to the students of Haymarket and beyond!”
IM.POSSIBLE at Haymarket, West Gate, and Old Bridge Elementary Schools with Motivational Youth Speaker Eddie Cortes
Picture this: A bustling room filled with eager faces, each with dreams as vast as the sky. It’s here, amidst the halls of Haymarket, West Gate, and Old Bridge Elementary Schools in VA, that I had the privilege of igniting sparks of inspiration and resilience in young hearts.
The Heart of the Assembly: Empowering IM.POSSIBLE Dreams
Picture walking into a vibrant gymnasium buzzing with excitement. That’s exactly where I found myself during my visit to these incredible schools. My mission? To light up young hearts with the power of dreams and resilience.
Dreaming Without Limits
At West Gate Elementary, after the assembly program, I was invited into a fifth-grade classroom by an enthusiastic teacher. What I witnessed there was truly heartwarming. Students, with wide-eyed wonder, shared their takeaways from our assembly:
- “I learned that all of us can make our dreams possible if we put in the work.”
- “I learned that you can follow your dreams, and that anything is possible when you believe in yourself.”
- “I learned that I can’t give up on my dreams, and I’m worthy of chasing them.”
- “I learned that I should never give up on my dreams, even if it’s hard.”
Their words resonated deeply with me, reinforcing the core of my message: Every dream is within reach, and every student is worthy of chasing theirs.
The IM.POSSIBLE School Assembly: Building Resilience and Self-worth
During our time together, I had the privilege of sharing the Im.POSSIBLE School Assembly—a high-energy, interactive presentation aimed at empowering students to embrace their dreams and build resilience. Through humor, thought-provoking stories, and engaging activities, we explored the idea that their potential is far greater than any perceived limitations.
A Counselor’s Reflection: Spreading Inspiration
Amidst the buzz of excitement, school counselor Sara Criser shared some heartwarming feedback:
“We thoroughly enjoyed your presentation. Our students and staff are still talking about it! Your message really aligned well with our classroom lessons focused on career development, growth mindset, self-respect, and character building! Thanks for being an inspiration to the students of Haymarket and beyond!”
Conclusion: Empowering Resilient Dream Chasers
As I reflect on my time at Haymarket, West Gate, and Old Bridge Elementary Schools, I’m filled with gratitude for the opportunity to empower young minds. The energy, enthusiasm, and engagement of the students reaffirm the transformative power of our assembly.
To the dedicated school counselors, Nicole Parnis, Amy McCarthy, and Sara Criser, and their esteemed Principals, thank you for opening your doors and hearts to our message of resilience and self-worth.
Until we meet again on this incredible journey of dreams and possibilities.

ABOUT SCHOOL ASSEMBLY SPEAKER EDDIE CORTÉS
With over 20 years of experience, Eddie Cortés is regarded as one of the most engaging elementary and middle school speakers in the youth market. His mission is to empower students to build resilience and a positive self-worth.
This mission is personal. As a middle schooler, Eddie stopped believing in himself. In fact, his negative self-view impacted his grades, relationships, choices, and ultimately his dreams.
This experience is what fuels Eddie’s mission. He wants every elementary and middle school student to know that they are worthy of their dreams and have the tools to chase them.
